I'd go with an XBOX (not the 360) or a PS2, yeah it's a little older technology, but at their age I really don't think they'd mind nor know the difference. You can get an XBOX package or PS2 package deal (the system and games) for well under $250. Granted if you get them those, next year they may be asking for the 360 or the PS3. XBOX offers more games geared towards their age group where as PS2 will probably be a little bit cheaper.

Get them a remote control Land Rover from Target, they are about 100.00 bucks. Huge car and it is way cool. Also some games for their DS or Playstation if they have one. Mountain bikes are cool too, they are also on sale at Targe right now for about 60.00 bucks. Merry Christmas and hope this helps.

It depends where they live. I have grandchildren that age and I bought them a tent that easily assembles. They can put it up in their great room inside or outside in the back yard. It comes with sleeping bags and chairs. I bought each one a kit with a helmet with a light on it a crank flash light a lunch box and a box of goodies. You can get them bug catchers , throw away cameras for their adventire pads and pencil. Please no video. You want to boost their imagination and get them away from TV and Video.
