I had this dream since I was very young, I would say age 7-8. Now I am nearly 30 and yet I am dreaming the same dream from long time ago. Sometimes 2 years go pass, sometimes a week but it keeps repeating...
It is this house in a vilage that my parents lived in before I was born. They still owned a part of the house up until I was 12 ish, it was shared with other members of the family. Nobody lived there on permanent bases. There was a large garden for fruit and vegetables that the family used to plant on.
Yes it was in need of decorating, but it didn't look like something out of a horror movie. I was never scared when I was there, still was going there as normal even tho the dream had started, and there is nothing traumatic ever hapening there that I remember.
I dream I enter inside, straight away I can hear an owl in the loft, breathing. It is cold and I feel scared, I run outside, the garden is empty and burned from the sun, I scream and run, no one around...I wake up in sweat.

Think about the symbols in your dream and what each of them mean to you individually. The house, the owl, garden, loft. Some say the house is a symbol for our mind with the loft being "higher" levels and the basement "base" levels. On this basis your family hold over you is still strong and some fear of losing that may still exist. The wise owl in your loft, is that you and why are you afraid of it? Keep going inside and decorate the house by paying more attention to your individuality (in real life) and relying less on the fruits in your family's garden. In real terms, try and be more the wise you (owl) and not keep fleeing outside to the fruit garden (your family). It is "cold" when one analyses things and becomes objective.
Do not accept any answers you feel uncomfortable with because this area is still wide open and there are no dream experts. The symbols are yours so try to understand what each of them mean to you.

You're trying to get through some sort of fear, which may not necessarily be related to that specific place. I imagine that something might have scared you at an early age and still scares you today, but you've stopped thinking about it and instead dream about some catastrophe at the home you lived in at the time of the first fear.
It's normal for dreams to repeat, although that's probably not much comfort in this situation. Perhaps the best thing to do when you wake up is to consciously go through the things that make you feel secure so you won't fear loss so much. The original problem from childhood may come to you.

dreams are your subconcious mind's way of bringing up issues that your conscious mind wasn't able to deal with originally but is now..... in other words, some fear was formed at an early age, and only from the time you were 7/8 was your conscious mind willing to deal with the fear/situation. Were you left alone for a period of time when very young, or left in a quiet place where you thought you were alone? The dream seems to suggest to me that you fear not having people around you - or you could simply be missing your family. Next time you have the dream, the second you wake up write it down - this can help release the dream from your subconscious, some people paint/draw their dreams to get them to move from the subconscious. This might help to decrease or even stop the recurrence.

I am by no means an expert on dreams. With that in mind, I have always heard that when one dreams of a structure, particularly a house, it is representative of one's own physical body. The empty garden intrigues me - in your waking world, it seems to have been a source of sustenance and possibly some economic prosperity for your family; the fact that this source of good things is dry and empty in your dream might mean that you feel you don't share in this abundance in some way.
I think you will have to put your own interpretation on those ideas; without any knowlege of you, they're just concepts that are subject to your interpretation. I hope those ideas help you a little.

Perhaps as a child someone told you something scary about attic or maybe you saw a scary movie involving an attic, or maybe you read "Flowes in the Attic". Also owls are constantly used in scary movies. One should always watch what they eat as in watch what you are putting into your mind such as what calibre of movies. At any rate you seem to be afraid or curious about the attic in that house. so do one of two things: Go back to the house with flashlights and a buddy and explore that attic, then after exploring it make it a useful room. Or in your dream guide your dream take yourself and a buddy up to the attic with flashlights and explore the attic then make it a useful place and also, in your dream restore the garden. May you never have this dream again.

recurring dreams are your mind's way of telling you there is an important lesson to be learned from that particular dream. it seems you have a fear you need to overcome, perhaps a fear of isolation. and your mind associates the family village house as an isolated place, or a familiar setting to help you grasp the meaning of the dream.
every meaning in a dream is symbollic. very rarely are things depicted literally. so don't think of it as you being afraid of the house, it seems to symbolize a deeper meaning, a fear that you've maybe supressed since childhood. perhaps something did happen to you at a young age, and your mind naturally supressed it to relieve you of the trauma. iti happens. not very often, but it happens.
I'd suggest seeing a therapist to help you remember any repressed memories, or at least help you make sense of your recurring dream. it is not something that should be ignored if you've been having it for over 20 years

Maybe some part of you misses the village or wants to go there, or maybe it is not really the village at all, just a part of your life you want to go back to. And when you come out of the house, and it's empty, it may signify that that part of your life is over. It is both scary and sad.
Spend time with your parents. One day they will not be around. Maybe it's about your fear of losing them. You won't regret it if you stay close to your family. The part of your life in the village is over, but your life with your family is not. Some things change, but it's not always bad. Just keep your relationship with your family close.

In my opinion I think it is an issue of sudden isolation or maybe abandonment by an older member of the family that you looked up to in your early infancy.Maybe some sort of tragedy occurred that took that person away from you or maybe that person hurt you in someway, then estranged out of your life and their pressence still haunts you looking for closure.Whatever it maybe it has some connection to your roots, your sense of security and and an insecurity on your person .Good luck..God's speed..peace Riz>...
