I think they would be appalled at the entitlement mentality, attacks on religion and attempts to justify any lifestyle no matter how destructive or in opposition to the will of the majority. However, I also believe they would have some issues with modern day conservatism and the attempts by some to limit freedom for others. In the end I believe they would defer to the guiding principle that freedom must be embraced even when it is found to be disturbing to some. In order to protect the freedom of all sometimes it is necessary to accept even the most extremist viewpoints. Honestly, I think the thing they would be most distressed by is the amount of power now invested in the federal government to the detriment of state's rights and this is neither Conservative nor Liberal in nature, but rather an institutional problem.

I think they would see it in a much more positive light than neocon politics which seek to destroy some of the rights they

I think the entitlement mentality would puzzle them. They had to work hard for all they had and they never expected anyone to give them a handout.
