He claimed that part of the reason that he left was because I was a bad parent. I said, fine, you can have the children most of the time and I will see them every other holiday. I had them Thanksgiving week and I will have them Christmas week. Now he says that I should have them 50% of the time because he can't run in the mornings and is gaining weight. What is the response other than laughter? My kids and I have a great tiem when we are together and my mother in law says that she can tell when they have spent time with me because they are better behaved.

Because he has a girl friend now, and he can't get out as much. That's his problem now.

I'm guessing that you are sensing the irony of the situation here...yes, he told you you were a terrible mother, and here he is asking you to take the children more often, because he has realized what a tough job it is. Relish in the moment, and ask for substantial child support.

why wouldn't you want them 50% of the time??? why would you let him have them in the first place? I guess I don't understand the question entirely...
