I sold a coat on ebay for 35.00 but the buyer wasnt responding ot my emails and so after 5 days i relisted it for a 1 day auction. Now though 8 hours before end of auction the person has written to me saying their computer crashed and they will pay for the item. My problem is that I can't end the relisted item because there is less than 12 hours, and I want to sell to the original person as I am sure I won't get as high a bid again.
What can I do?
Also I can't add a message to te description as you can;t do that if there is less than 12 hours either.
Help!

We had as similar problem when an item we were selling broke and ebay wouldnt let us end the sale - we ended up having to let people bid on a broken item !! What we did do was continually cancel peoples bids and sent messages to explain why. When the bidding ending we contacted the winning bidder and explained and they were great about it. Try contacting the bidders to say the item is no longer available - they will understand. MAy not be wise to say you are selling to someone else though xxxx

You can email the high bidder of the auction that your item is no longer available. If the auction is over and they already payed you using paypal, just refund the buyer the money, with an explanation to buyer, they should understand. He will probably give you a positive or neutral feedback because you notified him and gave him a 100% refund, so its not like he got ripped off. You can ether tell him the truth, or tell him that you lost the item. Unfortunately you cannot end the listing early because you have less then 12 hours ago. I hope this helps you.

I would contact Ebay and ask them to end the auction as the item is no longer available.

You could also send the current high bidder an email explaining to them that the jacket is no longer available. I'm sure if you are honest with them, they will understand. I would!

if your item has no bids on it....edit your listing with a header that says "DO NOT BID" put an explaination in your description that something has happened that you can't sell it....
if you have bids on it..send an email to the current high bidder explaining that an issue has come up that your not going to be able to sell them the coat.

Next time..you should follow ebay non-paying bidder terms....you wouldn't get yourself into this situation

It relies upon if the dress fee £3? also, in case you left comments putting ahead that the dress you received replaced into no longer the only shown contained in the image hence the harmful comments i does no longer hardship about the only unfavorable remark yet you need to nicely be efficient that you've achieved no longer something incorrect yet he would then put in yet another remark preserving he did furnish you a compensation. capture 22 wish this helps good luck he's providing you £3 at the same time as it fee £20???? Stuff him - keep the harmful comments - the guy is a discredit to ebay!

I anyone buy coat second time email them via ebay and explain that the coat has been damaged and is no longer for sale and to stop any payment made for it. If they already have refund them. In future do what I do payment to be made within 24hours of auction ending unless emailed and then extend it to 48hours etc.

Hi,

The only other way is to ait for auction to end and then immediately email winner to explain.

contact ebay support. they will help and try taking the item off ebay if you cant who ever bids for it just dont sell the item. your best chances would be to contact support. try this link to talk to them: http://us.ebayobjects.com/2c;27244792;12515765;m . if this link dont work then just go to ebay.com and click on live help. that will bring you to being able to email them or chat with them live. they should be able to fix your problem. i sure hope they do cuz i can understand where your at.
