Im going out to a new years eve party where i will be standing for about 6 hours. i want to wear black suede ballet shoes but im not sure what kind of pants to wear. I will be wearing a black and red spaghetti strap shirt.

I would suggest black pants in a lightweight stretchy fabric with an elastic waist. Pants like these are comfortable to wear for long hours. Pants made of velvet/velour would be nice. If velvet/velour will be too fancy you can try poly/cotton knits which is the same fabric as a t-shirt. I wear poly/cotton knit pants year round where I live (Texas) and they are very comfortable.

You are not really supposed to wear socks with ballets flats, try some tights at most. I still would not suggest socks, either

A denim mini skirt would be cute, or you can always wear skinny jeans, that's what Kate Moss always does.
