I check through its virus defination, there is this w32.sober@mm which explain other people pc get infected and not mine. His infected pc send my name to the "from" field and send to other of his addresses. and so on.

now, really confused. what should I do now? The bound back email stating the receipent firewall has blocked my email. problem is that was the time I already off my pc. I off my pc for a week. How could virus been passed on even when my pc is off?

thanks for your advise.

As Bostonian and others told you, you don't have a virus in Outlook, but you do have spam. Get ELLA for Spam Control, it's free and you train it to sort the spam from the mail you want to keep. I've used ELLA for 3 years and cut my spam down to 1 a day, sometimes less.

You don't have a virus.

What has happened is that your e-mail address has been spoofed as the "From:" address by a hacker trying to spread the Sober worm virus. Some newbie has set his antivirus software to notify the senders of any virus infected e-mails. Since your address has been spoofed, you're getting those messages. J

ust ask the person who is sending those messages to turn that notification off. It's useless. If he refuses to so so, report him for spamming to his ISP.

Use a temporary file email which disappears few hours. Mailinator.com supplies you with a temporary false address for free. That will cut alot of spam from your email.

I think it may be a spam. Many hours are wasted due to spam email. However, by taking simple precautions while giving out your email and installing updated free software, you can prevent spam. More info available at
