One wolf no, but a pack of wolves would. They always hunt, and travel in packs.

A lone wolf could most certainly kill a grown healthy human. A wolf’s bite is more powerful than any domesticated dog - even pit bulls! Wolves of course prefer hunting in packs, but some members are found without a pack. It is doubtful that a lone wolf would attack such a large target as a human by themselves though unless they were cornered. In that case they would be attacking out of fear and not looking at the human as a food source.

Generally speaking, animals do not attack humans unless they are deathly sick, wounded, or starving. That's not always true, some animals are very territorial and will attack to protect their young, but generally speaking. So unless the wolf were about to die of starvation then no, I do not believe it would attack and eat a human being. There have been no recorded attacks by wolves on humans that I know of where the person was killed and then eaten by wolves. Domesticated dogs have killed people, been in the newspapers, but they never ate the person afterwards. Dogs are very closely related to wolves. In fact, they are in the same genus called Canis.

Yes. Why not? Humans are known to eat other humans when they got hungry enough. the only difference is that the wolf doesn't see you as an equal, just potential food.

Yes,why wouldn't it?It is after all a wolf and being such they are preditorial carnivores-unless of course the guy had a gun and a good shot then most likely would save hisass, providing it was a lone wolf because wolves tend to travel and hunt in packs so most likely he'd be the wolfves' food for thought with a side of shrub and moss salad...eemmmemem'yummmmyie..peace..Riz>.

Actually there are no documented cases of a HEALTHY WILD wolf killing a human in North America. The only cases of wolves attacking humans are under the following circumstances... Sick or injured wolf, starving wolf, captive wolves or those kept as pets, wolves in areas where they have never been hunted by humans. In most cases it is a single wolf that will attack a human in desperation because of illness, starvation etc. There is no recent documented case of a wild wolf pack attacking a human, but it could happen under the right circumstances if they were starving or did not fear humans. Most wolves fear humans and will avoid them at all costs, wolves that know little of man tend to exhibit curiosity rather than aggression or hunting behaviour. In the past wolves did hunt humans as prey and they are still capable of doing so, but they are now used to us hunting them as prey and tend to avoid humans. In the area where Iive we have lots of wolves but they are rarely seen because they avoid people, when you do see them they always run away and it is a rare occurence indeed to see an entire wolf pack. A Ministry of Natural Resources officer who has worked the bush where I live for over 30 years has never had a threatening encounter with wolves and he has seen it all. In fact it is more common to be attacked by a domestic dog than a wolf, domestic dogs attack 3 million and kill 20 people each year.
The answer to your question is yes, a wolf COULD attack, kill and eat a human, but to thier credit they do not usually do so unless forced to in order to survive.
In fact of all large carnivores I fear wolves the least because they have an ancient bond with humans that makes them more likely to be curious of humans, rather than attack us. I recently had the opportunity to observe a wild wolf pack, because they had formed a relationship with a person I know who has draft horses, the wolves became accustomed to his presence at thier rendezvous site and when he brought his horses down to the field to work them the wolves would come out and lay around watching... it was incredible and rare experience, the wolves it turns out like thier descendants (dogs) consider horse dung a delicacy and came to trust and accept the presence of horses and the man driving them because they learned they had nothing to fear and could get dung snacks. They never once threatened the man or horses and in fact still feared other people accept that one man. Also the horses did not fear the wolves either.

By all accounts it is more likely you would get struck by lightning, shot by another person and mauled by a bear and attacked by your neighbours dog in one day than ever get attacked by a wolf or wolves.

Possibly, but highly unlikely. I don't know the exact figure, but there have been something like less than 10 documented cases in all of U.S. / Canadian history of a wolf killing a human. You have a better chance of being killed by a bear or a mountain lion.

Not a lone Wolf - Vs - a healthy human
Man would do some damage to the dog with tools
Pack of Wolves - Vs - a stranded hungery weak man (no contest)

Doubtful. Most wild animals will not attack unless (a) they're wounded, (b) they're protecting their young, or (c) they feel threatened. It would have to be one very BIG very HUNGRY wolf attacking a small, lame-looking man...
