How prevalent is monogamy? Which cultures do not concern themselves with it?

Monogamy (or monogamy in theory) is the normal situation for most people even in cultures where polygamy is permitted. Most men cannot afford to have more than one wife. In Islamic countries like UAE probably less that 5% of men have more than one wife. Polygamy is permitted under Islam (up to 4 wives), in parts of Africa and of Africa but in practice, it's not terribly common.
