potential energy is not a force... when we say that we have energy...it means that we are CAPABLE of creating a force and do work which in turn can transfer energy to another body on which work is done.

OK...
potential energy is not a force it is the result of the force and the distance like the gravitational force or the force of a spring thus if u hold something up it will have a potential E now if u took the earth away from that body then the body will gain potential E
( movements are relative)

Potential energy is NOT a force. No form of energy is a force. Potential energy would be best defined as the ability to do work on an object, but most easily thought as stored energy. This stored energy can be converted to other forms of energy like kinetic energy, chemical energy, or heat.

No. Potential energy is a form of energy, hence the name.

The difference between energy and a force is that energy must be exerted to create a force on an object.

Force has units in Newtons, lbf, etc.
Energy has units in J, btu, etc.

The work done on an object is the Force times the distance, or the Energy exerted over a cetain time.

Potential energy is essentially the amount of energy stored in an objects current state. At any height but zero in a gravity field an object will have a potential energy. If released from rest and allowed to fall the force of gravity will cause the object to release its potential energy and convert it to kinetic energy.

No.

Potential energy is - in essence - the energy a body has by resisting a force. All forms of potential energy arise from one of the fundamental forces of nature

Potential energy is relative, because forces are relative. For instance, a body has more gravitational potential energy if it is above your head realtive to you, but less than someone say in a plane flying overhead.

Potential Energy = Force due to gravity X Height = mgh
So P.E.not equal to force

potential energy can be described as energy of a body due to change in its state or position.

Potential energy is stored energy...it doesn't become force until it moves, creating kinetic energy.
