Are you offended by people saying "happy hanukkah" to you?

I hope not. It's the intention that counted, and I think it's lovely.

I am offended by it, but everyone is different and just because I am does not mean every Jewish person is.

Some of us get offended because we know that saying merry christmas tacitly implies that the person you are saying it do believes that Jesus was the messiah, since many millions of Jews died because they refused to acknowledge this idea as valid, I consider it a slap in the face to my ancestors to give christmas any credit.

No, I figure the peson saying it is just trying to be nice and is probably feeling warm and fuzzy about that time.

Also, people who say it are basing themselves on hard core logic from the Jewish Talmud, even though they don't know it. "Anyone who is seperated may be assumed to be seperated from the majority."

Since most people in the US celebrate Christmas, the person speaking to me can safely assume I come from the most people. He's wrong this time, but most of the time he would have been right. I'm gonna hold it against him he had bad luck this time?
