What about taking her out to eat then a movie and some shopping in the mall afterward,just telling her that the spending limit is X amount Am sure she would feel "special" and the memories will stay with her a long time,cause you took time out for HER Merry Christmas

My one neice is 11. For her birthday in August, I bought her a gift card to The Limited Too (Her favorite clothing store) She absolutely loved it. She was able to go shopping for clothes that she wanted. She is getting into clothes/makeup, etc. Not so much into dolls and toys. So maybe a gift card to a store she would like to shop at.

Since she's 11, find out what she likes to do. Then take it from there. If you can get some ideas on what she likes, then it will be easier to buy her somethin' nice.

a digital camera, something small, she can have all the pics she wants with her Friends, she should be in middle school about and that is when we all start to bond... some of those old photos are my faves, and still bring The biggest smiles to my face... hence my ugly photos from 8th grade on my-space....

If you are going for a personal gift, what about a locket with a picture of you and her inside? Hmm or how about a pocket book filled with her favorite lip gloss.

Jewelry...ID bracelet with her name engraved or initials,,or birthstone inlayed necklace,look for 10 or 14 Karat gold or sterling silver so they won't tarnish..
an ankle bracelet with charms...most malls have shops with jewelry for girls her age group..reasonably priced as well.Or try posters of things she likes,or music Cd's,video's of Holiday movies or her fav's..
