You cant - you obviously have the setting so your pc only stores minimum restore dates so 3 days ago is the furthest back you can go. You need to change the settings to aviod it happening again xx

Windows XP relies on setting "restore points" that it looks for. If the only restore point is 3 days ago then your only option would be to reinstall XP and load the software (assuming you're trying to restore because there are software problems, if you're trying to get a file back you're out of luck).

It is possible that before that time system restore was turned off, or you did not install any programs or doing anything that would have triggered a restore point until that time.

the System Restore feature only allows yo to return to a date in which a system restore point has been made. apparently the only restore point you can access is three days earlier because that's the only one available.

if I may ask, why do you need to restore your computer? if it's a viral issu that can be fixed without the System Restore. if it's a serious problem however, you may want to consider re-formatting your pc, which will delete all data on it and restore it to factory standards like the first day you turned it on. that of course, should be a last resort, as it is very time consuming and causes you to lose everything you don't have backed up.

open system restore ,

click in create restore point click next then you get page where you can type in restore point such as 02/02/2002 then click home .

and the restore point that you typed in should be in the 2nd part with the time that you did it

click on that and then click next keep clicking till pc goes off to create a new restore point .

pc will switch off and then start back up again with the restore point that you set.

if that does not work you can reset the restore point to a different time .

when you use your pc try to remember when it was working ok and chose that point hope this has helped you alectaf

If you don't have an option past the three days, then you're probably out of luck. Your computer probably doesn't have backups back to before the three days.

Now, if you're in an office, and the document(s) you want restored are older than three days - and on a network, then you'll be able to call your local IT guys and have them restore from tape backup.

Good luck!

system restore uses a percentage of your hard drive total capacity,12% to be exact and this can be altered if you wish to save drive space
for example if you have a hard drive with a 100gb capacity, system restore is allocated 12gb of space to save system restore settings, this would obviously enable you to save alot more restore points than if you had a 40gb drive
so the answer basically is you need to get a larger hard drive to enable more restore points
go to start>control panel>system restore and you can alter system restore options there
in regard to anyhing you save on forums or any on-line site, most of the time the settings are saved on their servers ,such as yahoo answers,if you had a hard drive failure and had to re-install windows you wouldnt loose all your points you have acheived in answers as these are saved by the servers at yahoo as are your 360 page and group settings
from good recommendation,i belive a program called norton go-back is a better type of system restoration, and unlike the windows version of restore, the go-back can be used in the case of a infection by viruses ect, were in windows all you would do is hide the virus, this is a common mistake done by windows users.
good luck

Do you've a restore disk (there blanketed once you purchase a sparkling workstation, a good type of the time anyhow)? if so, pop that infant in for the duration of startup, boot from it, stick with the prombts and wall-a. If no longer, then you choose your operating gadget disk, format the stress reboot the operating gadget, in problem-free words problem with that's you wont have each and every thing else that the manufacture pre-loaded on your workstation.

If you can't find a good restore point, post back and say what the problem is you need help with. People will try to help your fix it.
