No, it's not. I am not one who has to have constant attention or make people feel sorry for me so that I can have attention. I've known quite a few people like that and it is annoying as hell.

I think it's become the new scam of the ages sympathy = pity thus people give you things and coddle you instead of just saying man up bitttch.
