You shouldn't have any trouble, you can run both at the same time except msn or Windows Live messenger they only allow one computer at a time with the same user name, you can always open another account to run the second computer. You can also network the pair together and share files and printer etc.

If your wireless router is on a different floor than the PC that is going to be connecting to it the connection/data rates will be less than ideal, just be prepared. You can always run a segment of CAT 5 either from downstairs to up or vice versa and set up a wireless router as an access point (AP) so the wireless system will be able get a near perfect signal.

No,
You need to connect both computers to your external wireless modem router. You modem keeps the broadband connection alive and the router provides both PC to us the net at the same time.

No problem as long as you have a router with DHCP turned on. While you're at it, get out the router's manual and turn on wireless security so your two computers can use the internet without sharing with the rest of the world.

Think of a wireless/cable/dsl router as an intelligent splitter. Each PC will work independently and there will be absolutely no mixups of web pages etc.

There should be no problem at all. One is wired in and the other is wireless, and they both work independently, even though it's down the same couple of wires ! Clever stuff, isn't it !

No , you should not face any problems if you are using a modem/router but if you are using switch then you can only use it on 1 computer at a time

This is your basic network! You shouldn't have any problems however if you plan on sharing resources between the two PCs I'd recommend putting them in the same Workgroup. This will facilitate them finding each other.
This should give you additional info:
