Bad.
Passive-agressive doesn't mean you're a deep thinker, it usually means you're manipulative.
For example a group of friends are going out to a restaurent and can't decide which one.
Some may make a choice, some may dither, the p-a person makes their choice but doesn't voice it untill they are on the way to a restaurent they don't want to go and they say
' I hope that I don't get food poisoning from this Indian restaurent like I did last time...'
And they will go on like this until the restaurent they originally wanted to go is suggested then say -
'well I don't want to be any trouble.' once they know it will go their way.

If you have two characters. 1 passive, the other aggressive, then you are borderline schizophrenic and I suggest you seek professional help. If you are talking about different people having one or the other of the traits then, it's a matter of degrees. Too passive and people will take advantage of you and you could end up being abused. Too aggressive will lead to the person ending up in prison and friendless. You need a balance of both to be a healthy individual.

I think it can be both depending on different situations.
Being passive aggressive often means that you keep your ideas to yourself (as you have mentioned) and that you often try to avoid conflict by any means possible, often resulting in you not getting what you want or deserve.
It can be a good trait because you will obviously get along with most people because any agreement you have with another person often won't last long.
It can be a bad trait because you will often end up compromising your desires to please others and end confrontations. This may also result in pent up anger which is never a good thing because this anger will often be released in negative or explosive ways.

Passive-aggressive is not the same thing has keeping your thoughts to yourself.
Being passive-aggressive is a bad trait because you're not expressing outwardly what your opinions are.

Nothing is never a bad trait. we just learned what passive, aggressive, and assertive was in health class. Im passive. i hold back my ideas in school. when i go home, i talk and talk. Aggressive is just using strong actions or words to describe how u feel. Like i said, traits are not bad. It's just who u are.

Passive-aggressiveness is a negative trait.
A passive aggressive person tends to be more bitter and resigned to the actions of others, more likely to eventually crack, and also are seen as people who are not strong enough to be direct with others.

I think they should call it 'passive-agressive-obsessive', simply because of the energy that goes into this behavior. I have learned to be more direct, and then to just let the chips fall where they may. This way, I'm not being consumed by my thoughts(shemes) to get others back. Passive-agressiveness is really just childish game playing. State your thoughts or feelings to an 'enemy', and move on.

Passive-agressiveness in a person is not a good trait because it fosters resentment and anger eventually. And most likely the person is always "acting out".
