Express your opinion as long as it is not a threat to others. Your likes or dislikes about the government. You are free to move to any part of the USA without asking permission.

The Bill of Rights, and the other amendments.
Society in general. Individuals are often bad, or at least do bad things, but society is a force for human and individual rights.
And yes, people will disagree, but Christian values. People deny the relevance of Christian influence, but our perspective on the world is at least partly due to the predominate religion. Even if you follow a different religion, or no religion, in western society, your world vision is influenced by Christianity, mostly in a positive way, regarding human rights.
Better question what are we not allowed to do? Drugs, prostitution (except in parts of Nevada) violence without provocation, theft, lie, in the form of libel and slander. I'm sure there are others, but pretty much you can pursue whatever life you choose.

Some wild animals are pretty much free like an bear,eagle,bobcat or wolf but humans in USA are highly ruled and regulated by laws some of which may not meet majority desire! Free in America, only for those who can out right buy justice maybe, but for the majority your delusional if you think we are any where near FREE!

Maybe we should ask, what are we NOT free to do ? Have you read the Patriot Act ? Have you read the Military Commission Act of 2006?
I agree that this response may be a rhetorical way of answering your question. But it may be the only effective way to drive the point home.
