Only when you're halfway through a movie and the disc stops playing because of a scratch and you have to skip part of the movie to finish it.....

No there is not I presume, but this is the way a CD tells you that it has been overplayed and needs to be changed.

I hate it, it's been happening with my newer ones and I take excellent care of them . Having a new DVD player that I cleaned with one of those cleaners , now it won't play that's annoying

It drives me nuts! One of my cds is currently doing that, and I'm so pissed I get the urge of completely destroying it. I haven't yet, though. I guess I'm still hoping it will repair itself.
