Definitely go with a live plant.... African Violet [ez to take care of and bloom nicely], an orchid [as others state - kind of exotic] or some other flowering type. Why? Well, they can last a long time, and continually remind the person of you... Add a nice card with it, and you're set.
If you don't want to send a live plant, then perhaps a Chocolate rose and a nice bottle of wine..... absolutely a heart grabber.

Ya have to make sure he's the kind of guy that would dig getting flowers.......soemone sent me some once, and thats when I found out I don't like getting flowers. I mean, I like flowers, just not getting them. Once your kinds sure, try gerber daisys, they rock.

I'd say that would depend on the person receiving them ,but my self instead of cut flowers that are going to die within the week ,I would buy him the plant so that he could enjoy it for years , and think of you and the occasion he received it every time he sees it.

Roses! You can give him one big red rose. Just make sure the bud is not in full bloom yet so that it will last a bit longer. You can also give him a dozen red roses combined with pink or peach colored ones so that it would have more character than all red roses. Or better yet white roses and peach ones combined....Good luck!

I think it comes down to personal taste of the one receiving. But, if you're thinking you need something masculine .... well, here a few suggestions.
Try Gerbera Daisies (I'd pick red) and some Lillies. I've gotta say ... one lucky guy!
