In 2006 two organizations promoted a "New Seven Wonders" list.
In early 2006 an initiative was started by Swiss organization NOWC to choose the New Seven Wonders of the World from a selection of 200 existing monuments (ongoing).[15] Twenty-one finalists were announced January 1, 2006.[16]
In November 2006 the American national newspaper USA Today in conjunction with the American television show Good Morning America revealed a list of "New Seven Wonders" as chosen by six judges.The wonders were announced one per day over a week on Good Morning America. An "eighth wonder" was chosen on November 24th from viewer feedback.

1-. The pyramids at Giza
2-. The hanging gardens of Babylonia ( no longer around )
3-. The statue at Rhodes ( also no longer around )
4-. The Alexandrian lighthouse destroyed long ago, too
5-. The Temple of Artemis in Athens
6-. some building in Asia Minor
7-. the Temple to Zeus in Rome
That's what I remember. The Empire State Building in New York City, likes to bill itself as the Eighth Wonder of the Modern World.

i believe there are 7 and they are not animals, they are all buildlings or sculptures, unless you want the "natural wonders of the world" in which case they are probably things like waterfalls, mountains, etc. there are also new, updated lists being made all the time. in fact, yahoo is compiling one now.
