It can take longer, and of course it affects your fertility. You can have long-term side effects as well, including some cancer risks.

It does not effect your fertility, I was on the pill for 9 years and went off about 4 months ago. Guess what I am 3 months prenant today. SO, no it can't do you any harm.

Technically, you should be able to conceive right away, but my doctor told me I should wait about 3 months before trying after coming off of the pill. She also said to start taking prenatal vitamins as soon as I stopped the pill that way it would be a regular part of my system by the time I started TTC.

You can get pregnant just by skipping 1 pill in your pack so to get pregnant after going off of it shouldnt be a very long wait to conceive.
Some women do however take up to 3 cycles to get back to normal after stopping BC.

normally the dictor will tell you to be off any type of bc for at least 3 months before trying to conceive. it shouldnt affect your fertility and you should not have a problem conceiveing due to the bc. talk to your doctor about wanting o conceive, so that they put you on a prenatal vitamin, because the folic acid in is vital to a woman trying to conceive. and again doctors prefer you on them for at least 3 months prior. good luck, hope this helps.
