I have been trying for a baby for the last 2 yrs. I have consulted several gynaes. One of them told me that I should give up and consider adopting. Another one told me that I still have healthy ovaries although they appear a bit small. I am not ready to give up. Neither am I willing to have assisted program.

Don't wait to see your ob/gyn. Go ahead of time, get an exam, and make sure that you are still safe and viable for a child. As with anyone woman there are risks when bearing children. These risks increase dramatically with age. There is nothing harder than losing a child, or the mother for that matter. So make sure that the option is still available without a horrible health risk.

My mum fell at 40 and had a number of miscarriages before that and was told she would never carry a baby to term unless she went on fertility drugs. My mum already had 4 grown children, she gave up on the idea of having anymore and when she fell pregnant a couple of years later she just thought she would miscarry but she didn't and had her first baby boy after 4 grown girls. He is going on 8 and loves having BIG sisters he is spending the holidays with me and my 5 children and we love it. My dad also has 2 boys with his new partner, some see our family as strange because our parents remarried and were having more children but we all love it and love our little brothers and uncles

My mother had my 15 year old brother at 49. He was born 10 lbs 1 oz with no fertility drugs. It is possible to have a healthy baby at your age. My mother just had to have more sonograms throughout the pregnancy due to her age to make sure all was fine.

yes however more risks are involved the older you get.. your doc may put you on a strict diet and more rest and less strenuous exercises just make sure you can handle the accual birth giving.. it is possible just be healthy about it.. no smoking, drinking, drugs, caffenne, too much sugar or fats. walk not power but casual it helps with your legs, back and abs which you'll need for birth giving.. good luck.

as long as her periods are stil regular, she should still be ovulating regularly. but keep in mind that the older the woman is the higher the chances of conceiving a multiple pregnancy. they say that the older the woman gets the more eggs are expelled during the ovulation period thus increasing the chances of a multiple pregancy.

I can be a little more difficult and you will be put at high risk as soon as you are, but your body knows what to do and you could have some restrictions from your age but other than that go for it.

you can but best to check with a dr.... the risk for downs syndrome and other things is much much higher so its good to be under close care of a dr and take good supplements before trying. good luck!

If she is still having her period there is not reason she can't. If after 4-6 months she doesn't conceive, she should try seeing her ob/gyn.
