Absolutely! What makes you think you can come to this country and work and not pay for the roads you travel on, the hospital that cares for you, the things you buy and not pay for the price that taxes provide for you? People pay taxes so that roads, social security, water, and all of the things that make life a little easier for us are available at our command. Why do you think that you can come here and enjoy all these things and then get them at the expense of the people who live here and pay for those taxes? If you don't like paying taxes here in the states go back where you came from and try not to pay taxes there.

Everyone has the right to work if they are legal in that country.
Depends on the hours your work you may not work enough hours to pay taxes, you may only work limited hours per week and still receive some benefits. The basic tax free allowance in this tax year is £5035, which means that you can earn this much money before tax is calculated on earnings, so everything over this is taxed. It changes every year. I would like for you to explain more what you mean, or what are your thoughts on your statement, do you have a reason to ask?

Don't you think that should be a two way street? When was the last time congress ever held some sort of refremendon or smal vote, or held a puplic debate before they just made up a pile of crap fed it to the puplic like we are all dumb sheep. When it was proved the war was all a lie was there an I'm sorry? I'll readjust that unfair trillions of taxes that are only going to a few war profiteers anyways. I sure Dick and Lynn feel real bad about the billions they made as the price of gas rose. And Condi with all her shares in Chevron, lets not forget Kellogg Brown and Root, LockHeed, Boeing Mcdonald Douglas and the Grand profiteer Hmmm Caryle Group. Gee George, isn't that the multi, multi, billion dollar grand prize your daddy set up with the Saudi Royal family while he was head of the C.I.A. This is all puplic record your family and the Saudi Royals have done 300 Billion dollars of business together in the last thirty years. Yes public records show that Backer and Wolfitze, most of the big hawks made large money. Money that did not go to any schools or infra structue or hospitals.
The real insult must of been Agust 31 2006. That was the day one of those so called embassies (PERMANENT) no Irarqi's allowed. After all these years of telling them "we can't fix the electricity' It's to hard to damaged. we can get you an hour maybe a day (sounds like Kenny Lay gave a couple lessons on how to administer electricity.) Yet you couldn't help gloating and throwing in their faces what Americans can do does if they want to. On that day the largest most secure embassy opened complete with flood lights over the outdoor pool, 24 hour electricity, tenis courts, Ithink I even heard of a golf course, though I'm not sure of that. What a way to win hearts and minds. If it wasn't for the fact that their is American men and women lives on the line their and American families back home. Yet right noe their are one and a half million widows because the men are mostly dead, some wounded, the rest inprisoned. And Americans arein the wrong thank to being lied to. Heck I would refuse to pay any taxes to such an undemocratic country and slaughtered for their own greed in my name. Plus the dupleted uraniam the U.S. Military is using in the shells of all it's shells and bombs, is sending the troops home sick and their babies are being born deformed. In iraq, much worse I've seen pictures of the deformed babies all paid by you taxes it would breck your heart. Not only that the middle east will not be inhabitable 2 billion years. Thats the half life of this stuff. You research everything I'm telling you. I urge you to see if want to pay for these operation.
In case your wondering the world know the rules of engagement were just shoot. Later it became shhoot all military men. (boys from about 10 to men about 65) The man that could find no mercy for Born Again Carla Tucker, Even though the puplic is supposed to forget all your past cocaine arrest then the record expunged, Carla was Born again and you mocked her making faces as she pleaded for life. But you were for macho. You wanted to be rid of the 'WIMP FACTOR" legacy around daddy are you going to blow up the word to do it?
Sorry question asker, see what I mean the president should be hanged legally. No doubt about it. Do you want to aid and abet him, Cheney, and the most openly corrupt congress, the U.S. is staring to look like a friffin bananna republic.

Paying taxes does not guarantee a right to work - ie welfare payments are taxed (at least they are in Australia).
Ideologically I'd say that yes, you only have a right to earn money when your going to contribute to the infrastructure that you/your children use (roads, school, health, etc). But in reality, it all depends on how good your accountant is, and how many cash in hand jobs you can keep off the books.

As far as I know taxes are taken out before you get paid and everyone must file an income tax form whether you owe or not.

in a society where a significant number of workers are on low pay they clearly have a right to work de facto when they may not earn enough to pay taxes.

You can earn up to a certain small amount of money per year without having to file a return. What is it-- $3000 or so?
