Prostitution should be legalised and brothels set up where women ( and men) can work in safety.
The problem is 'Where?'
Would you want a brothel next door to you or in your area?

My friend ran an illegal brothel in Glasgow for many years, the girls came to her asking for jobs, she did not threaten them etc. as girls who work the streets often are. Drugs were not allowed. Condoms were a must. She often helped them out financially when things were quiet (she made plenty the rest of the year) and most of all the girls worked in a safe environment.

I hate that the reporting on these dreadful murders makes such a deal about the girls being prostitutes. This makes them seem like scum who deserved it and gives a false impression to other women who may think that it is only prostitutes being targetted.

For whatever reason people end up in prostitution they deserve respect. How difficult must it be to find that that is your only option in life, wether it is to feed a habit or just to get by financially.

I'm a 20 year old women living in Ipswich, and I think it is a shame that I feel unsafe as I walk about my own town. Since the body of Gemma Adams was found, I have felt unsafe to walk the short distance to my car after work at 5pm. I was planning to go late-night shopping in Ipswich town centre on Thursday, but now I've had to change my plans because I feel unsafe! It is dreadful that one person is affecting so many people’s lives!

Although this maniac is only targeting prostitutes at this time, no female in Ipswich is safe.

Hi. I live in Ipswich and I frequently go on the bus into town on my own to meet friends but there is absolutely no way I'm doing that now, as one of the girls was last seen at the bus stop I wait at. It's such a shame and a shock that this has had to happen and I just hope this person is caught. Anyway, there are police patrolling the streets keeping the mentioned people in your question safe. xx

As I live in London and I'm not a prostitute, I feel safe enough. I obviously feel sorry for these girls and their families, but a part of me can't help feeling that sleeping with strangers for money is asking for trouble. They are putting themselves at risk with so many weirdos out there. This psycho is targeting prostitutes and obviously has a grudge. If there is to be prostitution in the UK, then why isn't there something along the lines of what they have in Amsterdam?

I don't care if they are prostitutes, they are vulnerable and the ba***rd must be caught..
I don't agree with legalising brothels because once old Gordan Brown gets his big snout in the trough those girls are in big trouble. I don't know the solution. R.I.P Ladies
