Assuming this is for a job. Dress the part to begin with. You never get a second chance to make a good first impression.
You should be neat, clean, and presentable. If you are interviewing for a professional type job, you must wear a suit and tie. The suit should be black, dark blue, or charcoal gray (in that order of preference). White shirt with a conservative tie. Socks match the pants, belt matches the shoes. No tie tacks, handkerchiefs, or other things to distract the interviewer. Remember, stay conservative. Same with perfume, cologne, make-up etc. You are going for a job interview, not a date. Carry a professional looking portfolio with a note pad, pen and an extra copy of your resume. Have some questions for the interviewer too.
Arrive early. Give yourself enough time to go to the bathroom when you get there. Wash your hands, comb/brush your hair, double check your appearance.
When you are meeting with the interviewer, give a firm but not crippling handshake. Sit only if offered, and if offered a drink, take only water. Answer the questions honestly and thoughtfully.
When the interview is over, thank the interviewer, ask when they will be making a decision, and GET A BUSINESS CARD. As soon as you get home from the interview, send a short thank you letter and be sure to include your name, address, and phone number...e-mail address is a good idea too.
Then get ready for the next interview. Don't sit around waiting for one interview to work out for you. Keep applying and interviewing until you have a job.

say everything how you feel or think unless you know for a fact its not going to get you the job, or is not socially acceptable, in otherwords dont just say what you think they want to hear because they probably always get that, but dont say something bad or really crazy.
also self elaborate in a positive manner if your answer is vague, so if they ask you a short answer question, answer it, but then elaborate a couple sentences to impress them but dont ramble.
also ask at least a couple questions at the end of the interview when they ask if you have any, anything really such as "do you provide training and how long is the training", and also something like "how does promotions and pay raises work". even if you think its a generic question, some companies have their own way of doing things like pay raises that others dont.
and thank the interviewer for the opportunity to discuss the job, also wear slacks and a nice dress shirt if your a man, and some polished dress shoes, or if its a real good job wear a suit and tie. always try to dress 1 step above what you would on the actual job there.
always present yourself in a positive light, and when and if they ask your weaknesses, say something that you dont think is really relavant to the job, in otherwords not something that is vital to the job that you would do every day, but may have a little to do with the job from time to time...then mention you are working on it in order to improve yourself.
mention you're adaptable and effecient. those are good general qualities to tell interviewers, so they know you'll "fit in the mold" quick and do what you're told in a quick but precise manner.
also watch your body language, dont just sit there with a poker face and make no movement, but dont let them read you too much either. dont look nervous or bored or irritated or high strung or like your trying to come up with an answer or anything like that.

Arrive at least 5-10 mts ahead of time----earlier than that is not good . Be well groomed, dressed conservatively and business like. Be polite----Yes sir, no ma'am or say name of person when answering, Mr. so and so, Ms. whomever. Remeber to say Yes, thank you, No, thank you etc.. Do not lie, be prepared for questions relating to previous work responsibilites, problems encountered, expecting income, own faults etc... have any related documents, certificates with available copies to give, have listing of references ready. Be calm and confident and clear in your answers. Research job before hand and mention your impression of the company from your research and how you can help in its mission but do not point out faults in company, emphasize that you are a team player and have examples ready from past jobs. Smile Good Luck

speak with knowledge, admit you do not know if you don't, answer every question with an answer, not another question, be pleasant, and cordial, the interviewer is not your friend he is doing his job, so be professional and do yours
