First you should consider other means of transfer than email.
The equivalent of sending a CD worth of MP3 music is like attaching a car to a postcard and trying to send it through a mailbox.

There are better methods:
However, first you must get your CD into a sendable state. Open up the latest Media Player for Windows (currently at Version 11, but you must at least have Version 10).
Go to Tools-->Options... And on the "Copy Music" Tab choose to rip to MP3.
The more you lower the quality, the smaller it is, and the faster you will be able to send it.
The higher the quality is, the better the music will sound, but it will take longer to send it.

After you made your choice with "OK", press the "Copy Music" button in Media Player to rip th CD to your harddisk.

Now you could send these files via e mail, but it will cost an enormous amount of time to send a CD via e-Mail.

I suggest you both download Azureus from http://www.azureus.com

Then you create a torrent from your ripped CD and only send the small torrent file to your friends via email.
Your friends then open the Torrent file, and will download the music easily from your PC.
The great thing about Torrents: As soon as one of your friends has a part of the music, it immediately offers this music to your other friends. So your friends have two PCs to download from, making it twice as fast to download.
Then a third friend has another part and the downloads get faster with each friend that you send the music to.

Much faster than email, where everyone has to download all songs individually...

Place CD in Computer and use a media player like Windows Media Player to listen to it. Then, rip all of the songs from that CD to the computer. Go into email program and send email message to friend... attach the file from the computer and click send!

First copy all the songs from the cd to a folder. Use a zip program to compress the folder to reduct the size.

Option 1:
send the file as attachment from an email service that allows enough space.

Option 2:
Upload the file using http://megaupload.com and send the link to your friends from where each can download the file individually.

Create a music file and attach it to the email you send out. Don't send the whole CD as the attachment just a song or two or a samepling of a few pieces.

First you need to "rip" the tracks from the CD. To do this you can use most programs that will play CDs. Windows media player will do it and so will iTunes. You just tell either program to import the tracks. Once you do that, they are just files on the computer and you can send them as email attachments.

You need software such as Audiograbber to convert it to an MP3 file which is a data file and send it as an attachment.
