I always find them in my room's mirror, why?

I have never heard of this behaviour before. It is intriguing, perhaps I'll have to set up some experiments next summer to see if it works on our local mosquitoes.

One hypothesis I would propose is that light is being reflected by the mirror, making it the brightest object in the mosquito's field of view.

Mosquitoes (and many other insects) are generally attracted towards light when they lack any other cues. In the wild, heading towards the light generally gets them out of any container, hole or other enclosure. In our cities, it generally leads them straight to our back porches. In your home, it usually leads them to the windows (which generally have an impenetrable invisible force field of glass over them), or in this case, possibly to your mirror.
