I need some new recipes for x-mas candy. I dont want to make just the traditional fudge, etc. Does anyone have something that they've made and is a tradition at x-mas??? I dont need complicated recipes, just the more simple ones. I wont have a whole lot of time this year. Thanks in advance. Merry Christmas!!

Here are some recipes we have used this year for Christmas candy/cookies. They may not be as traditional as you are looking for but they are easy to make. The folks I work with like both of them. I have made other recipes in addition but they are more complicated and you are asking for easy recipes for a short time frame.

Pecan Pralines
INGREDIENTS:
•2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
•1/4 cup water
•1/4 cup evaporated milk
•2 cups pecan pieces and halves
•2 teaspoons vanilla
•3 tablespoons chilled butter, cut in pieces
PREPARATION:
Combine sugar, milk, and water in a 2-quart saucepan; heat to boiling stirring constantly. Cook until mixture reaches soft ball consistency (235°).Remove from heat; stir in pecans, vanilla, and butter.

Immediately drop by tablespoons onto wax paper. It sets up really fast and so we pour it into a parchment covered pan instead of trying to drop it by tablespoons on the paper. Then we break it up like peanut brittle.

Seven Layer Bars
Easy to make, and very rich. Can use different kinds of chips (vanilla or peanut butter) to suit your taste. I also use the new nestle swirl chips in it.
Original recipe yield: 3 dozen
PREP TIME 15 Min
COOK TIME 25 Min
READY IN 40 Min

INGREDIENTS
•1/2 cup unsalted butter
•1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
•1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
•1 cup butterscotch chips
•1 cup chopped walnuts
•1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
•1 1/3 cups shredded coconut
DIRECTIONS
1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
2.Place butter in 13 x 9 inch pan and melt in oven. Swirl to coat bottom and sides with butter.
3.Spread crumbs evenly over bottom of pan. Layer chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and nuts over crumbs. Pour condensed milk over nuts. Sprinkle coconut over condensed milk.
4.Bake until edges are golden brown, about 25 minutes. Let cool.

Me too i love sweet canes and also the mushy melt on your mouth peppermint sticks...those are impressive!!! =D *those are not unavoidably Christmas sweet, yet I many times in problem-free words get them at Christmas and typically Valentines Day...and that is Chocolate coated Cherries! Cella is my admired variety...with the liquid center...OMG SO YUMMY it tickles your tummy!!! hehe =D

You can boil water and pour syrup into it to form hard candy. Take some of those liquid candies they sell at conveniance stores and pour them into the hot water, they harden up and become hard candy.
