Points - marriage isnt for everyone because....
1 - if you grow up in an abusive family you could be abusive.
2- your careers may split you and your partner up, ending in divorce.
3 - many people feel obligated to marry someone b/c they have children .. you shouldnt marry someone for that reason only, marry someone because you love them

I do not feel marriage is for everyone before a certain age. ( how's that? :-) )

Marriage should be encouraged in our children as they are growing, but we should also encourage them to certain morals so they will take the path of the wedding vows when their ready.

If I had a son, for instance, who enjoyed many different gilrs, I wouldn't encourage him to get right in there and get married. he'd have to live through and get through his wild days, before I'd even be happy with a marriage decision he was contemplateing.

Same would go for a daughter. If she was enjoying her single days, I'd let her go with the flow and she would know if and ever the time was right for settling down.

IF my children were gay, I'd stand by them and let them make the choice of really having their marriages "legal" or just a walk through.

IF I had however a child that was mean, I would not encourage them to marry at all. They may be would end up being abusers to both their husbands, wives or children.

No because you then would be asking for more divorces since this would happen. I know of a guy and no he's not gay but he has no desire to marry and he's in his 30's now. For him marriage wouldn't be a good choice because he'd probably end up cheating on his wife since he loves the women. Plus even for his age he's not very responsible as a person.

I do not think that marriage is for everyone. Marraige takes alot from a person. You have to give of yourself, and be with that person forever.. and forever is a long time. Some people need variety instead of working on keeping the spark in their relationship.
