Did it happen because we stopped beating children with sticks?

I believe it is because we have stopped corporal punishment. The kids get treated with kid gloves on and every whim gets pampered to. Another thing that leads to the brats not having any manners is the parents, [some parents ok ] . Nobody seems to stay married anymore , people meet and live together with the result that loads of kids have more new daddies in a year than chocolates. How can any child live a stable, happy life when some woman shack up with every Tom, Dick and Harry. And as for one-night-stands, that is just low and disgusting. Then they don't even use protection and yet another child pops out to face the harsh realities of life. It is cruel ane selfish of the girls [woman] who do that.

It went to the dogs years ago in my opinion. According to BBC radio 4 (In a "today in parliament broadcast just before the last general election) 15 million have moved abroad. All of them white middle class who dont need the dole to survive.
I left Uk in 1984, cos it was crap then, must be hell now. Uk is the most expensive country in the world to live in with the poorest public services. Cant understand why anyone would wanna live there.

No. It broke down because we have lost the plot. The lid has come off society.

Things have changed too quickly and people can't cope with life anymore.

And the number of Brits that have moved abroad is closer to 5 million not fifteen!
