i know how to erase the general history but i was wondering how do you erase it totally from your computer or can that just not ever be done??

Use Ccleaner... it will clean your computer pretty good...
and it is free ..

if u can delete the genereal history...u can also delete the temporary internet files...(look up that folder) and also delete the space used to collect all online info(internet cache)...that wil erase all...
as soon as u delete all...u MUST start a new window in ure web browser and type in any site to start a new list...otherwise...if dont...the deleted history will still b availabe...if someone is curious enough to see

right click on internet explorer, click on properties, click on delete browsing history
