Several years ago my husband got this brainstorm idea about my Christmas present. He thought he had solved the "buying the wife jewelry" problem.
There was a big box under the tree. I opened the box and it is said in our house that my face got this totally confused look then turned to unbelief as I realized what the gift was. My loving husband had bought me a metal detector. Not a cheap one mind you, but a top of the line water proof edition. It was now up to me to go "find" my jewelry.
Needless to say, I now am the proud owner of 1 1/2 karat diamond earrings and a 2 karat diamond anniversary band that HE bought after all the heat he received from everyone how heard what he did.

I got a present of Latin American music. Wonderful, except for the fact that I am deaf from birth, and the giver completely forgot! She knew me for 3 years!!! and had the misfortune to ask me if i enjoyed the music!!! Talking about putting your foot in your mouth! I asked her if there was one thing about me she forgot... (I was writing to her, not speaking... that should have been a VERY STRONG clue!)
