but this is the rain season. I put the clothes over the couches to dry, which take about two to three days. Does all this drying have any bad effect on the fabric or couch sponges (Mildew, bacterial growth etc.)? Does the water evaporate from the clothes into the air or does it sink into the couches? I haven't found anything but I was warned not to do so.

get a rack in the house and hang them there if it is raining.
Certain things I hang dry such as Sports jerseys where the dryer might ruin them,I hang them on the shower rack in the bathroom,it helps if there is a heater vent near by.
Just wondering if you spend a lot of time ironing because the clothes dryer helps take out the wrinkles especially in dress shirts or in my case uniform shirts.

I think it wouldn't be too good for your couches for the reason you gave. Plus air can't circulate to both sides of the fabric. I'd get some drying racks and set them up.

at the same time as i became a baby, very few human beings had dryers; I do not ignore that the garments continuously smelled reliable at the same time as they were dried outdoors :-) easily i imagine it must be a reliable concept in case you can and performance the area to dry issues outdoors, even with the very undeniable truth that you do ought to take fading into interest (which regularly only potential bringing the garments in once conceivable). the single hitch will be human beings like me, who stay in residences or similar circumstances the position there is not any position to allure to close outfits out, yet in case you can do it, I easily imagine it really is a reliable thanks to keep money AND help the enrivonment.

i would not dry them over the sofa. put them on a hanger, and hang on a door knob, use the hangers with the rotating hook and hang over the doors or, over chair. go to walmart and buy a metal or plastic clothes hanger for over your door that accommodates four or five items, for under $5.

Get yourself a retractable drier. You can put it in your bathroom or something above the tub if you have one. That way you can hang them up inside and save your couches in the rainy season.

Here's an ebay link to one.

Something like that would be ideal if you have somewhere to put it.

Karma.

I'm sure it does. Can you hang a line in the basement or bathroom?
