I challenge the notion that an electric shaver is less energy efficient than a wet shave, consider the hot water, it takes a lot of energy to heat water, consider the energy to melt down the steel blades once used, the energy to make the soap or shaving gel. Electric is energy efficient.
I also challenge the notion that a blade is cheaper for the same reasons unless it is a cut-throat razor but there is still the hot water and shaving soap.
I have had my Philishave for over 30 years and the original heads, I am sure the newer type are better at shaving now and fail in less than 30 years. This one is so worn on the heads I can take the top layers of skin off with it but can't complain.
The person who mentioned a "Pube Shaver" were you serious? I know someone that would like one suitable for the delicate lady area.

I use a Philips rechargable and as long as I keep the heads clean it's very effective. A good electric pre shave lotion also helps to get a better shave, Boots the Chemist do some good own brand, You never get as smooth a shave as with a wet shave, but there's no blood!

I have tried many electric shavers and i still have not found one that does what it claims that it can do.
I have gone back to the wet shave and have found so far the Bic 3 sensitive the best.
I will still keep trying to find the perfect razor.

The Philips Bodygroom is a rechargeable cordless body hair trimmer and shaver in one unit. It has interchangeable heads (one is a trimmer and one is a shaver). It is designed as a body hair remover for all parts of the body and aimed squarely at the men's market. The Philips Bodygroom is a wet and dry shaver and is completely waterproof. The shaver has a hypoallergenic foil

I have used the cheap disposable ones and they are basically worse than useless. I use Gillette track 2 plus and edge gel shave cream. I have used this type for over 20 years. If I could afford it, I would go to a laser hair removal place and then not need to worry about shaving.

I'd choose between the Braun and Philishave. personally I like both; the Philishave is better if I'm shaving daily, but hurts a bit if I have longer hair (i.e. haven't shaved for a week or so).
The Braun is good for longer/thicker hair but a little bit slower and rougher I find.

Any rotary shaver. Philips is the most well known, but I bought a Remington, similar design, on special offer.
I find foil type shavers too delicate, it's too easy to damage the foil. The rotarys are built to last.
Go for mains/rechargable, so whenever you forget to charge it, you can still use it off the mains.
