You have to fast for like 12 hours before drinking this 8 ounce bottle of ....stuff. Its like kool-aid but a lot sweeter. After 1 hour of consuming the beverage, they draw blood to see how your body is reacting to the sugar in the drink. (The lemon-lime isnt bad-stay away from grape though)

They make you drink a bottle of sugar water that, to me, tasted like kool aide. Then they make you wait an hour and then they take your blood. If anything shows up on the tests, they will tell you in a couple of weeks and then you will have to take another, more detailed test.

You have to go in with an empty stomach. They take your blood. Then you have to drink this nasty sugar water stuff. Sometimes they give you a cola or orange flavor. Then you wait for an hour and they take your blood again. If you fail the first time you have to take a three hour test. It doesn't hurt it just takes forever. Not to mention your a pregnant woman with an empty stomach.

blood test.... to test baseline readings. Then you get to drink this nasty "pop" lemon lime or orange... your pick. wait an hour and they do another blood test to see how your body metabolizes the sugar. Expect to do this twice during pregnancy. Once around 16 weeks and once around 32 weeks. Just to make sure you aren't getting pre eclampsia

oral glucose test is done to check for gestational diabetes. usually a solution (glucose) is given for you to consume after being on npo (eathing nothing) then theyll have your blood checked to see if your blood sugar is within the normal range.
