It means...

It means...

Honestly... I was going to put an answer...

I used to be proud to be British... and I'm sure there is still lots to be proud of... but at the moment... I'm struggling...

Massive immigration problem, growing international and personal debt, schools where English "isn't" the first language, crap football, rugby union and cricket teams, poodle of America, hated by most of Europe, despised by the Commonwealth, a target for terrorists, unprepared for major disasters etc etc etc

I'm struggling big-time!

What does it mean? It means I'm not from somewhere else... that's about all!

It means that:

a 15 year old has the 'right' to an abortion without her parents knowledge or consent.
a Christian can be arrested for distributing bible quotes at a gay pride rally, while Muslims are allowed to burn the Pope in effigy and 'shout death to all unbelievers' unchallenged.
a chav on the dole can complain about foreigners stealing British jobs while making no effort to go out there and get one of the jobs himself.
you can be fined for breaking the speed limit, while no one cares about illegal underage sex or drinking.
absolute relativism prevails to the extent that you are no longer allowed to challenge the opinion of anyone without being labelled homophobic, racist, an inciter of hatred or similar.
we have a labour government.

It means you have a different colour European passport to non-British people.

Welsh, English, Scottish and Irish (as a description) seem more important to people than British.

Britain won't even exist when the Scots get their independance. So we'll have to start feeling more English or more European I suppose. I give Britain about 10 years max.

Me too, thatmadlass - Britishness is not a feature of my personality. I am a Scot first, then a European. I eschew all that 'Britishness' implies.
