I have had countless compilation albums over the years on cassette c.d. etc and have lost loads of them. Now I'm downloading stuff but can't remember the names of most of them, I tried cdwow to get ideas but it's not much good for what I want

www.allmusic.com is my favorite site - you can search by song or artist, and from there it will give you similar artists and reccomendations.

Music Plasma - www.musicplasma.com is really cool too - it makes a map - for example, if you type Peral Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden, etc.. will show up in that area of the map. Very cool stuff.

lots of the time in case you google the call of a song, it provide you a minimum of one internet site with the full band's discography is. it somewhat is the place you have got the skill to discover the call of the song and album which you're searching for.
