Alcohol affects everyone differently as well as different alcohol can affect people differently. I used to turn into a complete a..hole when I drank whiskey but when I would drink vodka I didn't. If your bf is aware that he acts like an jerk when he's drinking then maybe he will try an experiment for you and try a different kind of alcohol to see if that will help. If he really 'loves' you and that doesn't work he would give up alcohol all together. At any rate don't stick around to find out if he's hitting you. Find someone better.
