That phosphorus greenish plaque that sticks to ancient sunken ships and artifacts...what is that?? Sorry can't find any pics cuz i can't think of the name :\. I hope it's enough info.

yes, i think i'm thinking of oxidized copper...here's a pic, but does it have a specific name like rust for oxidized iron?

if it is on copper or bronze it is called verdigris

Algae? Coral? Oxidized copper? Could be anything; we need a pic to ID what you're referring to.
