I like to think I am up there with most things, but isn't Nicole Ritchie's dad Lionel Ritchie? And isn't he of a dark skin persuasion? So why does she look so white? Is she using Michael Jackson's skin cream or have I missed something????

Nicole Richie was adopted by Lionel and his now ex-wife, Brenda Harvey-Richie. Her biological father is Peter Michael Escovedo, who used to work in Lionel's band. She is of Caucasian, Black Creole, and Mexican decent.
Her birth name was Nicole Camille Escovedo.

Lionel is not her biological father. She was adopted at a young age. Her biological father was a bad member with Ritchie. He slept with one of the groupies and Lionel offered to adopt and give her better life. I think Lionel and his wife at that time were having difficulties having kids.

Actually Nicole Ritchie was adopted by Lionel Ritchie and I think his 2nd wife. She's half black and half white by her natural parents.

Lionel Ritchie adopted her. She is white because he is not hher birth father, I watched a whole documentary on him and it talked about that a little, but didn't go into major detail.

Lionel Richie adopted Nicole when she was young...he's not her real biological father. I figured this out from a friend a few weeks ago while watching his music video :-)

Lionel Ritchie bought her off her real mom when he saw them at a concert. He payed off her real mom and she let him adopt her, when she was about 3-5 years old.
