For me, the coloured, bed sheets, towels, get a regular wash. The whites, always go through two wash cycles. Only because of the socks. I want them to come out white and not grey. Which is hard sometimes.

I always wash my towels separate from everything else, and I do not use Fabric Softener in them, are you awear that softner, actually makes your towels go bald and bits fall out, this is always on labels of quality towels. I always use a medium no. 6 wash.

I wash everything on my "regular" cycle unless I have a particularly dirty load (rare) then I use my "heavy wash" cycle.

doesn't you washer have cycles towels normal cycle warm water coloured cloths normal cycle cold water, whites heavy load hot water.
