To a first-order approximation the Earth is round. This
is due to gravity. Gravity pulls with equal strength in all
directions; therefore any variations from a spherical
shape will lead to gravitational forces that
bring the shape back into that of a sphere.

This is without considering the rotation of the earth,
however. The rotation of the earth adds centrifugal
effects, which cause the earth to bulge slightly at
its equator and flatten slightly at its poles.
(This is like twirling a rock on the end of a string
and then letting go--the rock flies away from the
twirler.) Because of these centrifugal effects, the
distance from the center of the earth to the surface
of the earth is about 0.33% shorter at the poles
compared to the equator..

Earth is round due to :

1) Gravity and the rotation of the Earth.

2) A basic roundish shape when it BANGed into existence.

3) Earth isn't perfectly round. It's actually a bit bigger around the equator than it is when measured from pole to pole.

(As far back as 300 BC Aristotle, a Greek philosopher, noticed that everything in space that he could see was round. He made an educated guess that Earth was also round.

We know now that Earth is round because of gravity. Gravitational forces from inside the Earth and from the objects around it pulled Earth into a round shape when it was becoming a planet. Gravity likes objects to be round because that way every point on a sphere's (Earth is a sphere) surface is as close as it can be to gravity's center.

Keep in mind also that the Earth is actually an ellipsoid (flatter
around the equator) because of the rotation. When objects spin round they get fatter at the center. Have you ever done pottery? If you do--and it is a lot of fun--notice how a pot gets thicker in the center as it spins round on the potter's wheel. )

According to the Bible God created the Heavens and the earth and he created the earth in the shape that he new it needed to be after all everything God created is good and perfection. He looked at it all and said it was good.

It's a law of gravity and adhesive forces in weightless condition as it is everywehre in space. If you are in a weightless condition and drop a liter of water, it will form a ball due to gravity and some adhesive forces.
In it's very beginning, earth was nothing but a semi-liquid fireball, therefore it became round as like as every other planet in space (in our solar system) too.

Earth is not of round shape.
It has Geographical Shape named as Geomatric.
It is some what like elliptical & cylendrical.
It is due to continues revolution & spinning of Earth. It is also due to the Environmental Condition around it.

NO its NOT !!!

Shape of earth is "OBLATE SPHEROID"

Bulging at the equator and depressed at the poles.
The radius of earth( ie distance from centre of earth to the surface datum) is not the same at equator and the poles.
bye !!!

In the worlds of duality, and amid all actions of matter, energy, space, and time, the sphere is the most sustainable of all shapes amid all forces.
