If anything the male customers are getting exploited. I used to work as a service engineer repairing tills etc in pubs and clubs, and would sometimes have to reprogramme the tills in a couple of lap dancing clubs we had on our books. The prices they charged for drinks was unbelievable!!!! A bottle of Gordon's gin, that would cost £13 in Tesco would be £65!! Although the mixers were free!!
As for families missing out while the husband's out at some club, does that really happen very often? I have nothing against lap/ pole dancing clubs, each to their own, but I do find them kind of sad. The girls can earn a small fortune, and when in their changing rooms, are just laughing at the blokes who sit there handing over their cash for what? Nothing, a bit of visual stimulation.

I think it encompasses both of what you said AND the men... it exploits those who watch the shows because it also enforces stereotypes on them.... like "all men like women to get nasty/freaky"...
it's a business! In the land of capitalism, there doesn't seem to be room for ethics. Then again... these exist in lots of societies.
Oh wait... I don't think strip clubs exploit men's families... I think you have to rethink what exploit means. Take away from the families? Often yes/maybe. Exploit? I highly doubt it. The strip club is not based on the family image.

No one is getting "exploited" that does ot want to. The girls are making money in a legal profession (would you rather they walk the streets? ) They are making more money than they would at Burger King or 7-11...this is turn feeds their families or maybe even pays for college. Having worked in the industry before as security at a club. most of the girls are mothers, wives, college students, soccer moms. I learned not to pre-judge.

all of them really, the women, the men and the families of the men sad enough to pay for this sort of entertainment. Surely the mans wife could give him a surprise rather than him looking elsewhere. It's quite sad really isn't it!!!

Really the whole capitalist system exploits the many for the benefit of he few.
Being a stripper is about freedom of choice as is watching one.

Everyone involved is making his or her own decision, no matter how ill-advised it seems to us. Not every bad scenario involves someone being exploited.

If anything, I'd say it exploits the male tendency to go to these things.

I think the real victims are the families.......
I have little respect for those who either work in or visit these places......I don't want to hear the sob stories of those "poor" women who couldn't make it any other way.....and I don't want to hear the men saying that strip clubs aren't harmful, as long as they don't touch.......BOTH are a bunch of bullsh!t

Good question. As you pointed out, it exploits all who participate.
