You have to remember when some fractures there ankle, there ligament, nerves, tissues, and most off all the bones are all attched this is why sometimes you also get painful aching sensation. This will gradually settle down, once the fracture in your ankle is starting to heal.Theres nothing at all to worry about, just make sure you keep your leg elevated when possible, rest when you can,and move your toes to help the circulation.Good Luck.

You might have pinched a nerve when you broke your ankle.
It might also be poor circulation, if you had to wear a cast.
When I broke my ankle, my foot hurt too, long after removing the cast. It turned out that I subconsciously twisted my foot a bit while walking to avoid putting pressure on the ankle, which put strain on the toes and the ball of the foot. Swimming worked for me, but it's best to talk to your doctor. If you're not wearing a cast anymore, try rolling a tennis ball on the floor with your foot- it helps relax the muscles.

radiated pain from your broken ankle and general stiffness from lack of use will make it feel worse . try gently wiggling your toes and resting your foot on a chair or something similar will help too. If it gets worse or continues then get it checked by your doctor

because everything you mentions is downstream from your ankle. nerves, tendons, and ligaments were damaged with the injury and that's what's hurting. they will, hopefully, go away with healing. You may even find that certain spots on your foot are numb after the healing. They may or may not go away, but it won't hurt anything.
