I am not for gay marriages, I am just curious as to why other people are not.

Sorry, maybe you guys didn't understand the question...The question was really based towards people who DO oppose homosexual marriage, not people who are for it. But that being said, I was just looking for any input whatsoever, but just so it's clear, I was really aiming my question to people against it...thanks

I would also like to make it clear that I believe marriage is holy and sacred. God intended for men to be with women. Now, obviously gay people can't choose how they feel, and that's not their fault! However, they are called to live a life of chastity...at least thats what the Catholic church teaches...By approving a gay marriage, someone is saying that they believe a gay marriage is the same as a marriage between a man and a woman, and its NOT the same thing! Man and woman were made to share their love on an intimate level and create life. So, I do not hate gays, I just don't believe that their marriage is sacred and therefore they should live a life of chastity.

and i NEVER said procreation was a how GOD set up HIS plan to create sacred life...God may not plan for some couples to have children, but for others he does, and gay marriages don't fulfill his plan in any way whatsoever.

The purpose of marriage is for the sake of having children, and extending the family in a pattern of descendency creating heirs and heritage to strengthen the social order. Marriage is holy, and were it to lose its sacred grounding in moral tradition, society would die like a vine cut at the roots. Gay marriage is a passing fad, claiming to be for purposes of gaining benefits for a partner, it is not the medium or mode to acquire non-working partner benefits.
Two people can live as life-long friends without marriage, and in fact men and women sometimes make the mistake of believing they don't need marriage to start a family. But society is built from the very ancestral roots of Creation on the blessings of marriage and the family. A group can think of themselves as a family, but a group can dissolve itself, and a family never can. You can go apart from your family for years, but the very second you hear of a member, the scene completely changes. Families are eternal and created out of the goodness and giftedness of God. Losing one's family is a true loss, but because the Lord is so intent on rekindling life and love, oneday it is understood that all families will be reunited and refounded in forgiveness and love, through his boundless mercy and grace. A person who is gay, may see that this was not his original state, and that his development was interefered with by an agent of evil. He may be transfixed on an idea or image that he can not himself change. Like a computer virus, the soul can be infected, but the Lord says in Psalm 33: He restoreth my soul. And in another: His love and His mercy are everlasting. The Lord is Father of us all, in fact the Scripture claims that it is God's intent to join his people in a bond of marriage so dear that they become his own true family. The true nature of sexuality is for procreation, but one day even that will no longer be essential, because the joy of the Lord will sustain the happiness of man eternally. For what God has joined together, no man can place asunder. "I sent my Word to heal them." And even in the valley of the dry bones the Lord joined together the bones so that once again a man lived and walked and had his being. And we remember finally that when He looked upon what He had made (and indeed what He had restored) He proclaimed it good. So that when He calls your name you answer: Here I am Lord, I have come to do your will.
Jesus said: who is my mother, my sister, or my brother? Those who do the will of my Father in heaven. And He tells us that time is mercy, and long enough to learn to say, "Yes" to your true brother and redeemer, Christ the Lord.

I didn't say I wasn't for them, in fact I am very for them. I think a homosexual has just as much right to get married as any heterosexual person. It is there right as humans to be happy and loved and if that is from the same sex, so be it. In a world where it is hard enough to find your 'perfect mate' why should we place boundaries on it having to be of the opposite sex? If you find the love of your life and they just happen to be the same sex, then good for you, you did what most people haven't be able to do, you found real love. And homosexuals have just as much right to get married and 'enjoy' the ups and downs that come with marriage. I am married and I think its the most wonderful thing in the world, we have our ups and our downs and everyone should enjoy that. I think it is stupid and trivial not to allow homosexuals to get married.

A#1 Because they marry each other and not your brother, sister, mother, aunt, daughter and try to be something they are not! God gave us free will to choose to love and follow Him. To be forced into something is not genuine. Forcing people that are born gay & lesbians to do or behave contrary to their truth is a poor social experiment that to date has not worked or protected the "sanctity" of marriage in anyway.
1. Same gender couples can marry in any state of the US. They do not enjoy the benefits afforded to married couples however. Mans law does not over rule Gods law. Man does not have the power to rule same gender couples as "adulterers" because they are denied the civil right to marry.
2. There is no longer a Sodomy law in the US, the Supreme Court knocked that down a while ago. The catalyst was a homophobic neighbor of two gay men in Texas. It kicked the civil rights suit up to the Supreme Court the struck down the law. Coincidently "sodomy" in some states included anal sex between both partners of either sex, and some states only with a male partner.
3. Marriage is not about procreation, lest we annul marriages of couples that do not choose to or can not have children. Procreation has greater responsibilities because of the dependency of the child.
Mankind decided to make it possible for sterile couples conceive children, and it is possible for a child to be born belonging to three human beings. Two women can have each others baby that is tied by blood and fertilized by a sperm bank. When man decided to play God with procreation, man opened the door and the law of humanity came into play.
4. Why would a society feel they are protecting the tradition of marriage by denying gay & lesbians from marrying? When they marry each other they save selves and others from suffering the fallout of the social "experiment" of conforming and coercion for acceptance. I know a lot of gay & lesbians that were married to heterosexuals that divorced because of living the lie. So how are hetero's protected?
5. Children of same gender couples suffer from lack of coverage of health insurance, survivors insurance etc. During time of peace our military discharges gay & lesbians if they are outed. During time of war the claimed moral compass turns a blind eye to a military members orientation in higher numbers. To the world we have the face of a Hypocrite. How can we claim to have a tough and hardened military when the whining starts "he looked at me, omg help, help, help save me from the homosexual" ? We end up looking more stupid and weak.
5. Stereotypes have long plagued this earth. America has itemized the God given rights by splitting them off from all but the white male. Man will eventually stop competing with God, but until then the war on equal rights and demand for God given rights will not cease, regardless of the orientation, gender, age, size, race, religion. etc.

There are great solutions right here, so i flow to do some thing i do no longer many times do. i'm no longer certainly going to respond to the question, yet reply to between the solutions. d r: Procreation isn't a call for for marriage. If it have been, there could be a ban on marriage between people incapable of generating babies... mutually with elderly people and those with scientific problems that ward off theory. lots of the main properly-properly-known Biblical characters have been polygamists, alongside with a number of who have been seen "righteous" in God's eyes. while marriage replaced into "invented" it replaced into no longer the "romantic" employer all of us understand right now. Marriage has replaced DRAMATICALLY by using fact the begining and your opinion that it is going to proceed to be precisely as you recognize it by using fact it is going to no longer exchange is stupid. in case you think of gay people do no longer deserve equivalent rights in our society, merely say so, do no longer try in charge god, nature, and faith on your hatred and bigotry.

Why does your question presuppose opposition to homosexual marriage? I have no fault with such marriages as long as they are a serious commitment between two two loving and faithful people who choose each other until death due them part.
These are standards that, it seems. many heterosexual marriages do not sustain.

I believe that if homosexuals want to get married they should start their own cult and go for it . I believe it is wrong for them to get married in a church where it is an immoral sin. Therefor if they start their own there will be no objections. I do not believe their is any religion that accepts gays, so does that make them all atheists?

I DO support Gay marriages.
If your religion forbids it then YOU shouldn't do it.
Procreation is NOT a requirement to get married or remain married.

It is against the Natural Law but let them do what they want. They have the right to and are the only ones responsible for their acts and their consequences. If they feel happy practicing it nobody can intervene unless they do it publicly..
