Why we have been told what to eat, what to wear, what to drive do not smoke or drink. What do you think will happen to our country with all these supposedly voluntry rules and regulations.

You have a point, but try to remember, it is Liberals who want laws against smoking, fatty foods, and want drugs legalized. My personal thought is if you want to smoke then smoke. No harm to me. The second hand smoke thing is BS except in small areas. If you look smoke rises, so if your outside no one is getting any second hand smoke unless they can levitate. If you want to eat fatty foods and build your cholesterol levels, go for it. If you want to pay for gas in a giant SUV, that's your choice. I don't have to pay the gas bill.

I think you just described American Democracy. Remember all laws and rules are made by and voted on by our choices of Senators, governors, justices, and presidents. What they say directly reflects what we want. I guess we don't like fatty foods, pulutionous cars, explicit t-shirts and strong beverages. There is no such thing as a good government. When the multitudes of fervent flag wavers finally realize this..... well nothing will change anyway might as well continue waving the damn thing.
