Here's How:

1. Decide that you are going to stop. Pick a day and say that's it. No more nibbling. Now here are a few little ways to help.

2. There are some bitter tasting liquids that can painted onto the nails. I don't know anyone who actually liked the taste, so this is going to slow you down and give your nails a little time to start growing.

3. The minute you wash your hands, re-apply the liquid mentioned above. This will also focus attention on your hands and the nails which should be visible by now.

4. Keep an emery board in every room and one in your backpack or purse. The minute you notice a snag, use the emery board and not your teeth.

5. Buy a few bottles of pretty polish and some hand cream. You are going to keep your nails polished and your hands soft. In a weeks time, you are going to notice a difference.

6. Once a biter, always a biter. I have stopped, but it only takes a snag for me to revert back to old habits. I have to follow these tips too.

7. You might have been looking for a magical way to stop biting your nails, but I'm afraid that there is no such thing. You simply have to put your mind to it and stop!

8. Will power is an amazing thing. If you want something badly enough, you can do it. If you want pretty nails, you are the only person who can stop it from happening.

I'm a nail biter.. Or should i say i was a nail biter...
I stopped about 5 months back, in june and i've got really long nails now, on all except 2 fingers. That's coz i still bit those 2 fingernails till about a month ago.
I tried the bitter tasting stuff, and painting my nails and everything, but it never stopped me from biting.
The best i can suggest from my experience is to stop biting bit by bit, starting from 4 nails, and slowly till u aren't biting 8 nails.
Coz as u see ur unbitten nails getting longer and more beautiful u'll feel like it's a pity having those short ugly nails and u'll try even harder to stop.
But it'll take time of course...
haha.. all the best stopping, it's a really good feeling for me when i see my nails now knowing that i kicked my biting habit of 10 years, hope u'll get that feeling too, in a while's time.

Most beauty supplies carry it, it's clear with a lil tint of green. Nail polish that is grlic based, besides it helping youre nails grow the taste is too nasty to keep in youre mouth. Or you can just use black nail polish, since it's embarrasing to walk around with black syuff on youre teeth you wouuldnt dare to do it.

You can try this while you are at home and not doing much. Cover your nails with liquid that you doesnt like to taste.
As an example, you can use lemon. So that when you will bite your nails you will stop doing that because of its taste.
