I live in harrogate, 20 minutes out of Leeds. I'm 26 and my husband has been in bands in this area for years (he's 40) The music scene in Leeds is excellant - many many live venues - The Cockpit being one, where Kasabien started out. NOt sure about recording studios but the live scene is packed - at least 20 bands on a night somewhere. Go to Leeds - you'll love it.

Ive lived in Leeds all my life and thats a long time lol. We have had quite a few good bands, the most recent one is Kiasher Chiefs. The night life here is absolutely fantastic and there are quite a few places that do live music. You also have the opportunity of course to use the uni, they have loads of live music nights. You wont regret your time here i can assure you of that.
