The idea of free speech is a nice idea, put it is often not allowed. If some people want to deny the Holocaust, even though there are reams of evidence to the contrary, then they should be able to do so. Who cares? They are crackpots. Imprisoning them gives weight to their theories.

The very fact that you even buy into the possibility of a conspiracy on this subject belies very deep undercurrents of ignorance and anti-semitism. You should really get out more and surround yourself with people very different from the skinhead mental midgets you think are your friends.
Germany has severe penalties for anything related to the all too real holocaust, anti-semitism, hate crimes, and such as a means of preventing any future atrocities from being tolerated. Denial was a major part of the framework that allowed the desperate people of Germany to be manipulated into becoming the foul soulless people of Nazi Germany.
The nation of Germany does not want a repeat of crimes against humanity that it once purveyed onto peoples and other nations. Nazi-related BS will not be tolerated by the now good and decent people of Germany and to support that there are extreme laws in place for prevention.
I don't know how old you are, but the apparent ignorance of your concern suggests a sad immaturity and possibly a life already filled with hate and intolerance. May God help you to see the wrongness of your ways and the path to intellectual and emotional enlightenment.

That's not why they are being imprisoned. It's for the other junk they are doing.
I'm not Jewish, and I don't have a dog in this fight. But as far as those who say there was no holocaust ignore the overwhelming evidence it happened. I had two relatives (now deceased) who were part of the group that liberated Dachau.
You can call it something other than holocaust. But you cannot deny it happened. My opinion? Those who deny what Germany under the Nazis did to Jews and other races should be locked up. They have completely lost touch with what is real. And you shouldn't let crazy people run loose.

The Holocaust is a fact. It happened. The forensic evidence is undeniable. It was the worst genocide in recorded history. Holocaust deniers are intellectually dishonest. The crime committed in the name of Germany by the Nazis was so great, so horrific that the post-war government feels that it cannot tolerate such a disgraceful deception.

You should perhaps get out more often and maybe even take a trip to Europe, to Poland, to see the remains of the concentration camps. Or, barring that, at least go to DC and take a tour of the Holocaust Museum. Honey, this wasn't a joke! This wasn't a "conspiracy theory". This was real brutality of human beings taking their fear and hatred of other people to an extreme and insane level. Six million Jews murdered. Six million others (Slavs, gypsys, gays, free masons, etc.) murdered. Perhaps you see this as "ethnic cleansing". And if that's your position, you are a very sorry person indeed.

Why would a Holocaust denier choose an Avatar of a girl who looks like a 22 year old Latina valley girl who probably prefers spending a Sunday afternoon rollerskating in Santa Monica to translating Albert Speer's diaries at home?
Honestly, if you are a 49 year old bald myopic I wouldn't think of you are a lesser person on account of your appearance.

Unfortunately there is a lot of hypocrisy in the world: In Germany, not only people who deny the Jewish suffer in WW2 are imprisoned, but also people who regard it as a little detail in WW2 history (Such as Le Pen, who is one of the world's greatest politicians) are prosecuted. This goes on while at the same time I don't believe deniers of other peoples' suffer during WW2 (such as Philip Cohen, former PM Thacher of Britain and dead president Tudjman of Croatia) would be prosecuted in Germany should they visit it. At the same time, in Turkey, people who make it publicly clear that they DON'T deny the Armenian Holocaust in WW1 are prosecuted.

I spent three years of my "childhood" in a Nazi concentration camp. Both of my parents died there. Deny the Holocaust to me and I'll spit in your eye.

Maybe the specter of SIX MILLION murdered Jews, Christians and other Nazi opponents is still a touchy subject.
Unless you're David Duke or a guy named Mahmoud
