Its a basic diagram , it shows you where bt adsl adaptor should be?

Try running the installation cd. I seem to remember something on that.

If I read you right, the adsl adaptor (the microfilter) must be plugged into the telephone socket (the microfilter is usually marked with what part goes into the telephone wall socket).

The telephone and the adsl modem are plugged into the other side of the adsl adaptor - they are side-by-side on the adaptor.

And they are all manufactured so that they only go in one way. Don't force them.

If you use any other telephones in the house that are plugged into wall sockets, they must all have a microfilter (adaptor) plugged in and the telephone plug plugged into the microfilter.

If you have a SKY box or some other device connected to the telephone system, it should also have a microfilter between the device and the telephone socket.

bt recommend LAN connection. click the desktop help icon when it open you can check answered questions or go on line and ask.its probably in a note pad marked bt read me file.

I didn't get you what you mean!!! Any how if you are using LAN enabled router and you have LAN card in your PC just by LAN cable.
